About UIAS

Upper Iowa Audubon Society

We are a local chapter of the National Audubon Society serving Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Howard, and Winneshiek counties in Iowa and Crawford County in Wisconsin. We are also members of Iowa Audubon, the statewide consortium of chapters and birding clubs. Dues for new members come directly back to the chapter for helping us meet our mission, so if you are not yet member, why not join today?

Grants

We provide support to Driftless Area Bird Conservation and their work with threatened Cerulean Warblers and Red-shouldered Hawks as well as the public activities of the Driftless Area Wetlands Centre. When possible we help protect critical habitats in the Driftless. Your contributions help make these things possible!

Upper Iowa Birders Listserv

The listserv is set up so that members may easily share information about birding in our area. Some examples of topics for sharing on the listserv include: sightings of rare birds; information/invitations for field trips or other planned outings; recommendations for good birding sites; questions about or accounts of unusual bird behavior; sharing Christmas Bird Count and other organized-day-events results; and so forth.
